Curbing Criminal and Violent Acts: Essential in Promoting Well-being of Individuals and Communities

Abstract: The individuals, belonging to all communities, categories and socio-economic backgrounds get subjected to various types of criminal and violent acts. These have unfavourable on physical and psychological health conditions of victims. The research studies have indicated that women and girls are experiencing these acts more as compared to their male counterparts. Furthermore, the victims get overwhelmed by the psychological problems of anxiety and depression as a consequence of experiencing these acts. The individuals, belonging to some of the rural households give preference to male children. On the other hand, they do not appreciate the birth of girls, hence, girls get subjected to different types of criminal and violent acts. Within homes, educational institutions, employment settings, and different types of public places, the feelings of anger and frustration are regarded as major causes that give rise to these acts. Hence, in order to promote well-being and goodwill, it is necessary for individuals to be well-equipped in terms of measures, which are necessary in curbing these acts. All types of measures are required to be put into operation in a positive manner. The individuals will be able to contribute efficiently in curbing these acts, when they will form positive viewpoints in terms of all individuals, treat others with respect and courtesy and possess an approachable nature and an amiable attitude. Therefore, it is well-understood, curbing criminal and violent acts is essential in promoting well-being of individuals and communities. The main concepts that are taken into account in this research paper are, effects of criminal and violent acts, measures to be implemented in curbing criminal and violent acts and consequences of curbing criminal and violent acts.

Promoting Women Empowerment: Indispensable in Leading to Progression of Women

Abstract: The concept of women empowerment has acquired prominence among women, belonging to both urban and rural communities. The women, belonging to deprived, marginalized and economically weaker sections of the society need to acquire an understanding of this concept. Furthermore, they need to be encouraged towards acquisition of empowerment opportunities. In addition, support and assistance is needed from family and community members. The women need to be encouraged towards acquisition of education, getting engaged in employment opportunities, participation in various types of social, economic, political, religious and cultural activities and so forth. As a consequence, women will augment information in terms of various subjects and concepts, lead to an increase in motivation levels and carry out all types of tasks and activities in a well-organized manner. Furthermore, women will contribute efficiently in promoting good health and well-being, physically as well as psychologically. In this manner, women will render an important contribution in acquiring empowerment opportunities. As a consequence, they will promote family and community well-being. Furthermore, one will lead to up-gradation of overall standards of living. Therefore, it is well-understood, promoting women empowerment is indispensable in leading to progression of women. The main concepts that are taken into account in this research paper are, understanding the meaning and significance of women empowerment, measures to be implemented in promoting women empowerment, characteristics of women empowerment and women empowerment prepares women to live life to the fullest.

A Content Analysis of Journalistic Framing of Chemical Contamination of the Cape Fear River

Abstract: Guided by Entman’s Framing theory, this content analytic study explores the journalistic framing of the Cape Fear River contamination in North Carolina, USA. Chemours, a spin-off company of DuPont was responsible for the release of a hazardous chemical known as GenX into the river, which caused the contamination. The study involved an inductive analysis of 359 news reports about the issue. The results indicated that 78.83% of the articles framed the problems, 72.7% framed the causes, 60.17% framed the effects, and 55.71% framed the potential solutions. Five principal problem frames (i.e., river contamination, Chemours’s involvement, scientific uncertainty about GenX, governmental inaction, and the inability of the water treatment plants to filter GenX), four cause frames (i.e., Chemours’s malfeasance, wastewater spillage from Chemours’s facility, politics, and a lack of regulatory standards for GenX), six effect frames (i.e., the revocation of Chemours’s permit, legal action against Chemours, health effects of GenX, stakeholders’ demands for answers, scammers targeting stakeholders, and the potential declaration of Cape Fear River as a swampland), and five solution frames (i.e., stopping the wastewater discharge, securing grants to deal with the issue, using alternative techniques to filter GenX, advancing bills to prevent further corporate contamination, and using alternate sources for drinking water) were identified. By looking at all the four frames together, the current study adds to the framing literature, and can be used in the future to determine how the analyzed news media frames contributed to the formation of public opinion regarding the issue.

The Future of Yellow Journalism in India

Abstract: This research aims to understand how the media work in India regarding Yellow Journalism has influenced the thinking of the citizens. In India, Yellow Journalism has only picked up in the last one to two decades and has spread widely all-around India affecting the readers. The purpose of the development of Tv channels, newspaper, and magazines are to be the first to publish the news and to encourage higher circulation than the other newspapers in India. Yellow journalism has been characterized as a pure form of commerce rather than legitimate journalism. The research goal is to find out if most of India’s news and the media are based on exaggeration and how other countries are starting to practice Yellow Journalism. A qualitative research method was applied to this study and analyzed through the case studies using the document analysis design, with an inductive research approach, which depends on inductive reasoning. In spite of the fact that media has the opportunity to publish and broadcast data within the frame of news and entertainment, certain standards, rules, and controls should have been adhered to. Efforts are being undertaken all around the world to form guidelines and standards for media consideration.

Journey of Broadcast Journalism in Bangladesh: Challenges and Prospects

Abstract: Globally, Broadcast journalism is considered the most powerful medium to influence audience. In Bangladesh, broadcast journalism thrives when private television channels started flourishing around two decades ago. Television journalism created news hungry among the masses giving hourly news bulletin. But the ongoing pandemic Covid-19 has impacted everything especially the media. During this time broadcast journalism was very crucial as people were news hungry but at the same time it was very risky as World Health Organization termed wrong messages as “Info emic”. Giving proper message to the proper audience was a big challenge. and, information scarcity made it impossible as the pandemic is new for this generation. When the broadcast journalism was impacted globally, Bangladesh was also adversely impacted. Private television channels have failed to deliver messages for all types of audiences. There is a serious concern whether the audience was analyzed properly before preparing a message. On the other hand the journey of broadcast journalism in Bangladesh is not smooth at all. From the very beginning broadcast journalism has had to face a lot of challenges and obstacles to ensure its existence in the media industry. Television journalism faces pressures either from political -financial sectors or in the question of freedom of expression. Beside this it has the biggest difficulty or challenge in delivering news, because television journalism does not have much scope to go deeper. Even there is no opportunity to make detailed or analytical, rigorous reports. Moreover, in recent period social media plays an active role in media industry, but still there is no alternative of television media. So television journalism will clearly not die down soon.

Abstract: Ecology has been a major theme of world cinema from the time immemorial so much so that the former has become inextricably interwoven to the latter. The same is true with Malayalam cinema which contributes a major share of the vast reservoir of great cinema produced in India. The paper entitled Haritha Cinema: Exploring Themes of Nature and Ecology in Malayalam Cinema seeks to explore themes of nature and environment in Malayalam Cinema. It specifically studies three major ecological movies; Oru Cheru Punchiri, Aranyakam and Ennu Swantham Janakikutty. The paper also looks at how themes of ecology forms a major part of the Classic movies produced from Kerala.

Analysis of Single-Shot and Long-Take Filmmaking: Its Evolution, Technique, Mise-en-scène, and Impact on the Viewer

Abstract: The most of the narrative films feature extremely deliberate movie editing. The tale is advanced and viewers are given a feeling of time through cuts between shots. Cutaway shots provide background, and quick cuts that take place in only a fraction of a second, give the project vitality. A longer take, on the other hand, can occasionally be used to tell the story and transmit a lot of information at once, making it a crucial cinematography technique. Long-takes used to be constrained by the amount of physical film that could fit inside a camera. However, since everything is now done digitally, we can shoot as much as our multi-gigabyte storage card desires. There are several movie scenes that employ this long-take technique, but much fewer movies attempt to shoot the entire thing in a single take, and these films should be commended for taking the risk, even if they had various degrees of success. A single-shot or a long-take movie gives the illusion that time and space are continuous, just like in real life. So, as long as the filmmakers feel the need to be innovative and try to achieve something that is more difficult and fascinating for their films, innovation will remain crucial in the film industry. The one-shot technique is a rare example of a creative, innovative, and difficult technique. Using case studies, news reports and literature reviews, this study carefully observes that because the camera moves through and rewrites space in a single-shot movie, this filmmaking technique significantly contributes to the development of its mise-en-scène. It examines the effects that a single-shot or a long-take movie creates among the audience and the technical manoeuvres that define the success of it.

Impact of Multilingual Communication and Educational Status of Gond Tribes with Special Reference to Narayanpur District of Bastar (C.G)

Abstract: In India, there are numerous different tribal groups, and Chhattisgarh is home to many of them. The oldest tribal populations in India are found in this state, and it is reasonable to conclude that the earliest tribal people first settled in Bastar around 10,000 years ago. In India, the term “tribal” is used to describe people who are classified as “indigenous” in other countries. The idea that teaching in the mother tongue is an efficient method of learning arises from the theoretical idea that a culture can only be expressed via the language that serves as an essential part of it. The people of Bastar used to speak Gondi, Halbi as their mother tongues. Gondi is a part of the Dravidian language family very close to Telgu. They use these two languages for intercommunication. Hindi, or Chhatisgarhi is also used by outsiders to communicate with them.
