Abstract: Our nation needs an environment where everyone takes pride in becoming a stakeholder in nation-building and chalking out the future course of our national history. However, the irony is that the real stakeholders and key figures in our nation-building are still at the tapestry’s end. People accepted the normalization of Dalit or Tribal discrimination based on various grounds. The media can play a significant role in this process. In recent decades, movies have showcased a stereotypical representation of tribes and Dalits. However, a new group of South Indian filmmakers is now trying to alter the way movies are made and viewed in India. Their movies showcase diverse voices, experiences, and perspectives, influencing how we perceive and engage with our popular culture. When most filmmakers are fascinated by the commercial viability of a film, it makes matters worse for them. Their works are not only for art’s sake but also for life’s sake. Because movies have the power to normalize certain behaviours, attitudes, or beliefs, making them seem more acceptable to the mainstream of society. South Indian movies like Kantara, Jigarthanda, and Jai Bheem engage with the social reality of the discrimination faced by people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. This paper, entitled ‘The Days of Bowing Are Gone: Adivasis in South Indian Movies 2022’, attempts to explore the changing views and perspectives of tribal characters in popular South Indian Cinema in 2022, with special reference to the movies Sembi (Tamil) and Pada (Malayalam).

Promoting Enhancement of Working Conditions and Job Enrichment: Essential in Progression of Organizations and Human Resources

Abstract: Within all types of organizations, all the members, irrespective of their job positions in the hierarchy need to pay attention towards promoting enhancement of working conditions and job enrichment. Throughout their jobs, it is understood that they pay adequate attention towards the implementation of their job duties and responsibilities. To meet the expectations of individuals in leadership positions, achieve organisational goals, and lead to the upgradation of the overall structure of organisations, one needs to be well-informed about measures necessary for promoting the enhancement of working conditions and job enrichment. Within working environmental conditions, it is essential to be well-informed about the factors that necessitate the provision of infrastructure, amenities, and facilities. Furthermore, one needs to utilise various modern, scientific, and innovative methods and materials. In addition, one needs to utilise these effectively to lead to progression. Furthermore, all members need to generate information and implement all the factors that facilitate progress. Therefore, it is well understood that promoting the enhancement of working conditions and job enrichment is essential for the progression of organisations and their human resources. The main concepts considered in this research paper are understanding the meaning and significance of working conditions and job enrichment, as well as measures to be implemented for promoting the enhancement of working conditions and job enrichment, and the advantages of fostering such enhancements.

Sexual Harassment at the Workplace: Barrier Within the Course of Progression of Women Employees

Abstract: The main objective of this research paper is to acquire an efficient understanding of the criminal and violent act of sexual harassment at the workplace. The female employees are the ones who are subjected to this criminal and violent act. This is unfavourable on their physical and psychological health and well-being. One of the significant disadvantages is that the concentration abilities of the victims are impeded. Furthermore, there is a decline in motivation levels. The male employees are the doers of this act. The victims get compelled to leave their jobs. In all types of organisations, laws and rules have been formulated, enabling individuals to alleviate crime and violence. Furthermore, all members of the organisation, regardless of their job position in the hierarchy, must ensure that communication processes are effective. Moreover, they need to treat each other with respect and courtesy. As a consequence, one will render a significant contribution in forming cordial and amiable terms and relationships with each other. Furthermore, they will be able to achieve organisational goals and lead to the upgradation of the overall structure of the organisations. In other words, for progression, mutual understanding needs to be developed among all the members. Therefore, it is well-understood that sexual harassment at the workplace is a barrier within the course of progression of women employees. The main concepts that are taken into account in this research paper are that sexual harassment is disadvantageous in leading to the progression of organisational structure, the consequences of experiencing sexual harassment, and measures to be put into operation in eliminating sexual harassment.

Influencer Marketing: Popularity of Brand Posts Among Youth using Instagram in Guwahati, Assam

Abstract: Influencer marketing involves companies working with online influencers to promote their products. Other influencer marketing collaborations are less concrete; influencers have massive online and social media followings. Some people have hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of followers. It is still likely that many of them will appear to be ordinary people. They may have just a thousand followers, or even fewer in some cases. Nevertheless, they will have established their reputation as industry experts. Depending on their field of expertise, these are the ones who produce the most interesting social postings. They publish the most beautiful content and create the most exhilarating movies, and host the most interesting and informative online debates. The purpose of this thesis is to explore how popular Instagram influencers are, to study the efficiency of influencer marketing in promoting a particular product, and its future in the marketing sector. In addition, the study attempts to investigate customers’ review behaviours, desired qualities of influencers, and the reasons behind their activities. We employed an objective technique that combined qualitative and quantitative data to achieve the study’s goal. The information was acquired through a questionnaire and Interviews with the influencers. Influencer marketing is most effective when top influencers and story specialists are perceived astrustworthy and credible. Furthermore, it was discovered that influencers have significant influences on consumer behaviour when it comes to information search and alternative recognition.

A Study on SDG Linkages in the Eco-Hope Series of News Portal Mongabay India

Abstract: Even after eight years since the birth of UN Agenda 30 and its 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), climate change and its varying effects continue to loom over the earth and its inhabitants. How well are the SDGs covered by the media and communicated to the masses in a way that may evoke action and participation? The goals actively advocate for participation at global, national, and regional levels, but most importantly, at grassroots and individual levels. The knowledge that individuals or communities practising sustainable ways of living and livelihoods may go a long way in aiding other communities if adapted on a needs and context basis. The role of journalists and communicators becomes crucial here, as such stories, combined with the SDGs, have the power to draw attention not just to the perils of global warming and climate change, but also to the idea that solutions to mitigate these exist. However, media coverage of the SDGs or actions taken by various nations towards achieving these goals has been nearly negligible worldwide, with general environmental reporting itself being rarely covered in the mainstream media. To make ecological news more approachable, a constructive approach that includes context and examines solutions, rather than focusing solely on problems, is the need of the hour. The role of alternative media platforms, which particularly focus on environmental issues, proves crucial here. One such platform in India is Mongabay India, which features its Eco Hope series, highlighting efforts and solutions towards ecological conservation. This paper examines the linkages between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emerging in 133 feature stories of the Eco Hope series, employing a mixedmethods approach to identify these linkages through content and thematic analyses.
