Assessing the Adequacy of Print Media in West Bengal in Promoting Effective Environmental Reporting: A Critical Examination

Abstract: The study aims to assess how print media addresses critical problems such as the greenhouse effect, global warming, ozone depletion, acid rain, climate change, pollution (air, water, soil, noise), population growth, deforestation, biodiversity loss, ecological disturbances, pesticide usage, overfishing, energy shortages, human waste, and non-biodegradable plastics. By scrutinising the depth and breadth of coverage across these topics, the research aims to shed light on the media’s role in promoting environmental awareness and encouraging more sustainable behaviours. Through the identification and highlighting of environment-related stories in print media, the study aims to raise public awareness about these challenges and inspire individuals to adopt eco-friendly measures. This examination holds the potential to foster a greater understanding of how media shapes public perceptions and encourages proactive steps toward addressing urgent environmental concerns.

Promotion, Credits and Job Security: Essential in Promoting Enhancement of Career Prospects of Individuals

Abstract: Within all types of organizations, all the members, irrespective of their job positions in the hierarchy work diligently. In other words, they are committed towards carrying out their job duties with diligence, resourcefulness and conscientiousness. They have one of the primary goals of promoting the enrichment of their career prospects. For this purpose, they are required to please the individuals in leadership positions. Individuals aspire to attain promotion, credits, and job security. These are given to them by employers and supervisors when job performance, as well as the overall conduct of the individuals, is pleasing. These factors are considered essential for fostering a sense of job satisfaction and for retaining their jobs. The career prospects of individuals can be enhanced when they are well-versed in their job duties and methods to carry them out in a well-organised manner. Furthermore, the development of traits such as morality, ethics, diligence, and conscientiousness will facilitate the completion of all types of tasks and activities in a well-ordered manner. When employers are pleased with the job performance of individuals, they can render a significant contribution by offering them promotions, raises, and job security. Therefore, it is well understood that promotion, credits, and job security are essential in enhancing the career prospects of individuals. The main concepts considered in this research paper are the acquisition of promotion, credits, and job security, which facilitate enrichment. This includes measures to be implemented for the acquisition of promotion, credits, and job security, as well as the benefits that come with achieving these goals.

International Media and Perception Creations: A Study About the Strategic Narratives to Spread Chinese Cultural Values Through China Radio International in Sri Lanka

Abstract: The research was conducted to examine China’s leading international media outlet in Sri Lanka, the “CRI Sinhala Service.” The study aimed to identify the primary communication strategies used by the CRI Sinhala Service to promote China’s culture in Sri Lanka. This was mixed-methodological research. The qualitative data were collected from 25 interviewees across five major categories: government officers, private company officers, University academics, journalists, and businessmen. Furthermore, data was also collected through the CRI Facebook page and the CRI website. The quantitative data were collected through 300 questionnaires distributed via social media platforms to Sri Lankans. The research employed thematic analysis, content analysis, and statistical analysis using SPSS to identify the key findings. The study indicated that the main themes are reporting in CRI to spread China’s culture. Therefore, the main themes highlighted are the Chinese language, Chinese aesthetics and beauty, Chinese cuisine, and Chinese festivals, customs, and traditions. Each theme has different sub themes as well. There are three primary communication strategies recommended to promote the spread of Chinese culture. Integrating social media influencer, style repertoire and arrangement and live video reporting. The most influential strategy was a social media influencer, according to the findings.

Understanding Roles of Non-Government Organizations and the Development Processes

Abstract: The main objective of this research paper is to acquire an efficient understanding of the roles of nongovernment organisations and the development processes. Individuals from all communities and age groups are overwhelmed by various types of problems. Furthermore, the social issues of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, homelessness, crime and violence and gender inequality are found in rural and urban communities. Hence, individuals must ensure that these problems do not have any unfavourable effects on them. The victims of these problems are assisted in their recovery. Furthermore, they are provided with information on ways to improve overall standards of living. In other words, there is encouragement of counseling and guidance services. Individuals employed within non-governmental organisations are wellinformed about their job duties and responsibilities. Furthermore, they augment their information with methodologies and procedures, which facilitate carrying out tasks in a well-ordered manner and generating the desired outcomes. In this manner, non-governmental organisations are making an essential contribution to promoting community well-being. Furthermore, they are promoting empowerment opportunities among women and marginalized groups. Therefore, nongovernmental organisations are making an efficient contribution to carrying out development processes in a satisfactory manner. The main concepts considered in this research paper are understanding the significance of the roles of non-government organisations, the development processes, and the advantages of these roles in development processes.

Abstract: In today’s digital world every one is significantly involved in consuming media content with their interest and intent. Now it is proven that most of the time, we access media content through mobile phones or other handheld devices via several applications and websites. According to one survey, an average kindergartener receives 70 media messages every day, and teens spend one-third of their day engaging with media messages.[1] India is world’s second-largest population and second-largest digital market which is growing drastically in both urban and rural areas. Now, India has more than 500 million Internet users and over 450 million smartphone users, with one in every three people consuming video content online. Affordable and easy access to technology, combined with the growth of regional language usage in media content, wonderfully mixes early and new Internet users, making this market ripe for opportunities in digital media content.[2] India is a 2nd most significant number of internet users in the world.[3] As a result a large number of population is shifting towards online and digital platform and it may possible that population is not that much media literate to analyze the critically think on the dissemination and consumption of media message. Therefore, it has become necessary to critically examine the term, types, and effects of media literacy.

Information Security and Cryptography-Encryption in Journalism

Abstract: The purpose of this review paper is to garner knowledge about the information security and cryptography encryption practices implementation for journalistic work and its effectiveness in thwarting software security breaches in the wake of ‘Journalism After Snowden’. Systematic literature review for the ‘information security and cryptography encryption in journalism’ employed to synthesize existing practices in this field. Initially, existing research article databases and search engines are utilised to download or retrieve the abstracts of relevant scientific articles, which are then used for systematic and rigorous citation and summarisation works. Contingent upon them, their analysis and synthesis are employed to arrive at the findings. Research papers collated to write this review paper highlighted the vital issues related to the inadequacies of investigative journalists’ safety practices, even after the UNESCO guidelines of 2017 and 2022, which emphasised the urgent need for member States to address journalists’ needs.
